VIERA, FL. (January 18, 2019) – The USSSA Florida Pride has signed 4 year veteran standout Lauren Chamberlain to a 2 year extension, team officials announced today.
Though somewhat sidelined by injury throughout her professional career which limited her offensive ability, in 2018 she proved why she deserved to be the 1st pick Overall in the 2015 NPF Draft. She hit a blistering .350, had 30 RBI’s and 12 home runs putting her at the top of the charts in 2018. , Lauren scored the NPF Home Run Title in only 80 at bats. If it wasn’t for an early injury, there was no doubt she would have been MVP.
“Lauren has proven to be one of the best teammates and influencers in the game of softball,” Don DeDonatis, USSSA Pride General Manager remarked. “Her passion and enthusiasm for the sport is infectious. I believe that she is not only an invaluable to the USSSA organization, but even more so to the sport of softball worldwide.”
The 2018 ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue Softball star continues to shape the lives of young softballers in her LC Mentoring program as well as her newly established performance facility. A highly sought after leading contributor to softball research, Lauren takes great Pride in striving to make softball the best sport ever played every day.
