Pride Win Game One of Last Home Series

VIERA, FL. (July 24, 2018) – The first game of the series against the Chicago Bandits was played at the Pride stadium at the USSSA Space Coast complex and was delayed 30 minutes due to lightning in the area.

The game got started at 7:30 p.m. EST.

Jailyn Ford started in the circle for the Pride and threw three complete innings and earned the win, striking out two of the Bandits hitters and allowed four hits.

Delanie Gourley came in to pitch for two innings and struck out one, only allowing two hits.

Kelsey Nunley came in to close the game and pitched the final two innings of the game. Nunley gave up four hits and struc out two.

The Pride started off the scoring in bottom of the third with a sacrifice fly by Kelly Kretschman to score the speedy Allexis Bennett.

Lauren Chamberlain knocked one deep to the right-center fence to score another one for the Pride, to increase the lead for the Pride 2-0.

Chamberlain was hit in by Shelby Pendley and then beat out a close play at home with a great slide to put the score 3-0 for the Pride.

Bianka Bell kept the rally going with another double to the right-center fence to score S. Pendley and put the Pride up 4-0 in the bottom of the third.

The Bandits were able to score one in the top of the sixth to get themselves on board, 4-1.

A scoreless sixth, the Bandits got one across the board in the seventh inning, but the Pride held them down and  the final score of the game was 4-2.

With the 4-2 win, the Pride took game one of the Bandits series.

Lauren Chamberlain was named the Vaultz Lock It Up Player of the Game for another impressive night at the plate.

Chamberlain went 2-3 with one run scored and one RBI.

Friday July 26 the Pride take on the Chicago Bandits again for game two of the series at 7:05 P.M. ET at the USSSA Space Coast Stadium.
