Allexis “Chip” Bennett Signs Contract with USSSA Pride

Viera, FL (February 28, 2018) Allexis “Chip” Bennett has a signed a contract with the USSSA Pride. The two-time All American out of UCLA played for the Scrapyard Dawgs last season where she earned a Cowles Cup Championships and was named to the 2017 All-NPF team.

Bennett put up impressive numbers last year with Houston, hitting .335 on the season and stealing 13 bases. She rotated between the lead off positions and two-hole and played center field for the Dawgs.

Bennett said, “I am beyond thankful and excited that I have joined the Pride. 2018 is going to be an awesome year and I cannot wait to get on the field with the incredible athletes.”

“I couldn’t be happier with the signing of Allexis “Chip” Bennett,” remarked General Manager Don DeDonatis.  “She has proven she could not only produce in college but did so as well during her rookie year in the NPF.  Her speed is a game changer and she adds a whole new dimension to the Pride roster.”

Chip’s addition of speed and energy to the USSSA Pride lineup shined this past weekend when she made her debut with the USSSA Pride in Palm Springs, CA where in her first at bat in the Pride uniform she stretched blooper single into a double.

The USSSA Pride will resume play in April as they travel internationally to participate in the WBSC sanctioned European Pro Softball Series. Following their return, Pride players will report to Viera, Florida in late May to begin training for the upcoming season.
