Kissimmee, FL– August 11, 2016- With 36 wins on the season, the USSSA Pride clenched their third consecutive regular season championship (2014, 2015, 2016) and earned the top seed in this month’s NPF Championship Series.

Since 2009, the USSSA Florida Pride has claimed the regular season title five times in the seven years they’ve been a part of the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) League. Of those seven years, the Pride have gone on to win three NPF Championships and hope to finish off the 2016 season with their fourth NPF championship title.

“It’s good to keep rolling and keep us on a high going into the championships, it’s sure going to help, but we won the regular season for the last three years and didn’t win the title last year so that’s in the back of our minds. We know we’re not done yet and we’re going to continue to work hard the rest of the season,” commented Kelly Kretschman on the milestone.

There’s only one regular season game left before the Pride make their run for their fourth NPF Championship Series title. It all begins next Thursday in Tuscaloosa with the 2016 NPF Banquet where this year’s stand out players will be recognized by the league for their accomplishments.

Last summer, the NPF recognized Shelby Pendley (Rookie of the Year) and Kelly Kretschman (Player of the Year) for their outstanding performances. This summer, Pride veteran Kelly Kretschman has had an even bigger year and looks to be in the running for a few more recognition’s. Kretschman currently leads the NPF with 12 HR and 43 RBI. She has 61 hits on the season and has been named Offensive Player of the Week four times and recently surpassed former teammate Natasha Watley’s all-time hits leader record with 400 career hits.

The 2016 NPF Championship Series will be held in Tuscaloosa, Alabama from August 19th– 23rd. It will mark the return of two Alabama greats in Kelly Kretschman and Haylie McCleney. Get your tickets at profastpitch.com today!
