NCAA Super Regional Results Are In: Draftee Updates

Out of the 5 Pride Draftee’s that were advancing to the Super Regionals this past week, only 2 will advance to the Women’s College World Series. LSU’s Brittany Mack and  Cal’s Valerie Arioto will advance to Oklahoma City in hopes of winning it all.

This Weekends Super Regional Update:

The Number 1 2012 NPF Draft pick Brittany Mack and LSU eliminated  #9 ranked Missouri in 3 games this weekend. Beating them by a total margin of 10-6. USSSA Pride draftee Brittany Mack did not pitch as Rachele Fico pitched all 3 games for LSU.

Kristyn Sandberg and the University of Georgia were eliminated by #7 Tennessee after the series was tied at 1-1.  Sandberg went 1-6 with 2 walks for the series against Tennessee.

National RBI Leader Christi Orgeron and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals against the Arizona Devils and lost in 3 games. After a hopeful start to the series, winning 6-0 on Thursday, the Ragin’ Cajuns got blown out in the first game on Friday, losing 9-2. The third game had a similar feel to it as the Devils blanked the Ragin’ Cajuns in a blowout loss, 8-0. Orgeron went 1-10 with a walk in the series.

Nikia Williams and the number 16 seed University of Washington advanced to the Super Regional round as well,  meeting the Number 1 seeded Cal Bears and the 2012 Pac-12 Player of the year, USSSA Pride Draftee and 8th pick in the 2012 NPF Draft Valerie Arioto. The series wasn’t what the Washington Huskies had hoped for, as they failed to score any runs against the Bears, and dropped both games they played. Nikia Williams went 2-7 for the weekend while Arioto had a good series, going 2-6 with a 2 Run HR in the first inning off Washington pitcher Kaitlin Inglesby.
