Published on

Kissimmee, FL—July 20, 2016—The USSSA Pride opened their series against the Pennsylvania Rebellion in dominating fashion. They beat the Rebellion 8-0 behind Kelsey Nunley’s complete game shutout and home runs from Megan Wiggins and Hallie Wilson.

Megan Wiggins finishes her swing in dominating game against the Rebellion.

The Pride scored eight runs on 12 hits and struck out just three times. The Pride struck first in the third inning following three consecutive singles from Kelly Kretschman, Sierra Romero and Shelby Pendley.

The scoring started to open up in the fourth inning when Wiggins sent a home run into right center field. The game really opened up in the sixth when the Pride scored four runs, including Wilson’s two-run home run. Only two Pride batters went hitless.

Wiggins appeared to be going for the cycle. She was short a double, hitting a single, a home run and a double, in that order.

Nunley tossed a gem, allowing just two hits and one walk in 24 batters faced. She spread her strikeouts out over the course of the game. She struck out at least one in every inning except the fourth and fifth.

The series continues tomorrow as the Pride face the Rebellion again at 7:00 PM (ET). They’ll continue to play in Disney World at the ESPN Wide World of Sports.
