Washington, PA- July 7, 2014 – Pennsylvania Rebellion pitcher Sarah Pauly thrived in the national spotlight at CONSOL Energy Park Monday as the former NPF Pitcher of the Year tossed a complete game in the Rebellion’s 1-0 win over the USSSA Pride.
Pauly walked away with her third win of the season as Keilani Ricketts was tagged with the loss. The veteran hurled seven shutout innings, allowing just five hits on 78 total pitches, 55 of which were strikes. Ten of Pauly’s outs came in the air as she had just one free pass on the evening. Her effectiveness in the circle also earned her 20 first pitch strikes against 25 batters.
Defensively, the Rebellion also shined as two outstanding putouts at the plate by outfielders Samie Garcia and Mandy Ogle kept the defending NPF champions off the board.
The Pennsylvania offense scored their lone run during the fourth inning as Sarah Prezioso advanced Angeline Quiocho home on a one-out double down the right field line. Garcia, Jenn Salling and Bianca Mejia also assembled a hit each for the Rebellion.
The Rebellion and the Pride finish the four-game set tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. as Pennsylvania looks to even the series. For tickets, call (724) 250-9555, visit the box office, or order online at www.rebellionprosoftball.com.
