2012 Season Game Recaps

Abbott leads Bandits to 1-0 Win

ROSEMONT, Ill.— The Bandits looked to continue their success from last night as they faced the Pride in the second game of the series Friday night.

Monica Abbott and Cat Osterman started in their respective circles and it proved to be an old fashioned pitching duel as neither team were able to score until the Bandits secured a run in the bottom of the third.  The Bandits scored after Vicky Galindo was hit by a pitch and was brought home off Amber Patton’s double to left center field.

The Pride continued to struggle to find a way to get on base in the fourth, leading to another quick inning. The Bandits threatened in the bottom of the sixth after Alisa Goler and Kristen Butler each walked, however a fly out ended the inning as the Bandits were unable to put any runs across.

The one run on three hits would be all the offense the Bandits would need as Abbott pitched a one-hitter.  Both Abbott and Osterman were impressive in the circle with 10 and 9 strikeouts respectively.

The only Pride hit came off a single by Lauren Lappin in the top of the first.

The Bandits and Pride return to action again tomorrow night at The Ballpark at Rosemont with the first pitch set for 7:35.
