USSSA Pride Head to Akron

Viera, FL– July 25, 2017- The Pride are back in action tonight to kick off a four-game series against the Akron Racers at Firestone Stadium. The Pride are coming off two-consecutive losses against the Chicago Bandits but remain at the top of the NPF standings with a 25-8 overall record.

The series’ kicks-off tonight at 7:05PM (ET) with game one against the Akron Racers. Game two on July 26th is set for a 7:05PM (ET) start time and will be followed by the season’s third  “So You Think You Can Hit” event. The series concludes on July 27th with a double header set to begin at 12:05 PM (ET) with a follow-up game at 7:05PM (ET). All games will be streamed on NPF-TV.com.

In thirty-three games, the Pride have scored 161 runs, with 33 home runs, 147 RBI and averaged a .460 slugging percentage. The Pride pitching staff has totaled 198 strikeouts and have averaged a 1.8 ERA.

Pride Players to Watch:

  • Kelly Kretschman: Kelly has steadily led the NPF in batting average (.468), on-base percentage (.615) and slugging percentage (.772). She leads the Pride in home runs (4), tied with Sierra Romero and Shelby Pendley, hits (37), runs (22) batting average (.468) and on-base percentage (.615).
  • Lauren Chamberlain: Is leading the Pride team in home runs (7), tied with Shelby Pendley, and leads the Pride in doubles (8), tied with Kelly Kretschman. Chamberlain is averaging a .273 on-base percentage with 24 hits and 13 runs scored.
  • Sierra RomeroSierra currently leads the league and the Pride in RBI with 28. She currently has 24 hits, 12 runs scored and is hitting .304 with an on-base percentage of .418.
  • Keilani Ricketts: In 50 innings pitched, Keilani has struck out 49 batters and has an ERA of 1.4 with a 7-3 overall record.
