Pride’s Win Streak Keeps Rolling With Double Header Win

Miami, FL (July 7, 2017) – After an overwhelming win at the Space Coast Stadium on Thursday night, the USSSA Pride (17-3) kept rolling with their winning streak, as the Viera-based team motored past the Texas Charge (11-13) and the Beijing Eagles (1-17). In the doubleheader, the Pride underlined the efficiency and power of its offense, as USSSA grabbed 13 hits on the day.

During the first event of the day, USSSA faced the San Marcos-based Texas Charge. In the outing, the Pride struck first, as Romero collected her fourth seasonal double to put USSSA on the board, 1-0.
When the second came around, Wilson, Wiggins and Romero increased the Pride lead, driving in four runners to put USSSA ahead, 5-0. However, Texas answered back in the third, grabbing two runs to close the gap, 5-2.
After a blank fourth and fifth, Goodacre batted in one more run for the Pride in the bottom of the sixth, dropping a solo bomb behind the center field fence to enlarged the USSSA stretch, 6-2.
Entering as relief in the sixth, Taylor flawlessly dominated the circle and shut down the Charge lineup to seal the first win of the day for the Pride, 6-2.
