NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 20, 2017) – National Pro Fastpitch announced a league-wide exclusive partnership with 2XU (“Two Times You”), an Australian multinational corporation specializing in sports compression apparel designed to improve exercise ability, sports performance and recovery. 2XU is the leading supplier in this line of high performance sports compression apparel and with this announcement becomes the league’s Official Performance and Recovery Compression Apparel Partner.
The three year partnership marks the first ever for the league in the particular category of compression garments and brings to the NPF Official Supplier Category, only its fourth relationship that touts exclusivity.
Since the company’s inception in 2005, 2XU has graced the bodies of multiple World Champion athletes and formed powerful alliances as well as key partnerships with World Champions across the globe in numerous sports leagues including NFL, NBA, MLB, AFL and NRL teams and within the additional sports categories of soccer, running, triathlon, cycling, swimming ski and snowboard.
“This is a category we have been wanting to land for several years with a high quality supplier,” commented NPF Commissioner, Cheri Kempf. “Our athletes are performing at the very top of the chart, placing their bodies under rigorous training and performing routines with significantly less recovery resources than typical professional athletes. Having a performance apparel company with the reputation of 2XU, coupled with a confidence and willingness to improve our athlete training regimens and performances, is extremely meaningful to the league.”
NPF players will utilize 2XU’s world-class ‘graduated’ compression garments throughout training, game day and recovery. Graduated compression garments increase blood flow back to the heart, clear lactic acid, improve recovery time and contain muscles to reduce risk of injury and maximize power output.
“2XU is delighted to partner with the National Pro Fastpitch league for the next three years as its official performance and recovery compression apparel partner,” said Mike Keeley, Global Teamwear Business Manager. “We look forward to helping the talented women of NPF improve their training and performance and to being able to hear their feedback on their personal experiences with the products.”
The partnership with 2XU commences immediately with the 2017 season upcoming in June and will feature apparel options for players in categories such as compression undergarments, recovery tights and socks, arm sleeves and more.
National Pro Fastpitch franchises will also become dealers for the brand with an ability to sell product on a retail level. Merchandise is available in all sizes and many colors and is expected to be featured on team and league websites and onsite in team pro-shops.
Players are expected to report to their respective team markets throughout the month of May for preparation for the upcoming 2017 season. The season leads off June 1st and will conclude in late August with the Championship Series.
